What it does

Classroom Checkout Log overview

Classroom Checkout Log is for teachers, media labs, music rooms, clubs, and small school teams that need a simple way to see what is available, what is out, and what came back damaged.

  • Paper sign-out sheets and spreadsheets make it hard to see what is overdue.
  • Shared classroom items move between lessons, clubs, labs, rehearsals, and borrowers.
  • Teachers need practical records without setting up accounts or district inventory software.

FAQ

The practical questions.

Short answers about pricing, privacy, launch status, and everyday use.

What is Classroom Checkout Log for?

It is for tracking classroom equipment sign-outs and returns. It is meant for gear like cameras, microphones, tablets, chargers, instruments, lab kits, club equipment, or other small shared classroom items.

Who is it built for?

It is built for a single teacher, media teacher, music director, lab manager, club sponsor, small library lead, or school IT aide who needs a quick local checkout log.

Does it require an account?

No account is planned for v1. The app is intended to work as a local-first utility, subject to final App Store validation.

Where is the data stored?

The planned v1 stores item, borrower, checkout, return, and note data on the device. Data leaves the device only when the teacher exports, shares, backs up, or otherwise sends it outside the app.

Can I enter student or borrower names?

Yes. The app is designed for simple borrower names and class or group labels. Teachers should only enter the details they need and follow their school policies for handling student information.

Does the app take photos?

The planned workflow includes optional item or return-condition photos if camera/photo support ships in v1. Photos are for documenting classroom gear condition, and permission should only be requested when needed.

Can I export records?

The planned Pro workflow includes CSV and PDF-style exports for checkout history, due-back dates, return condition, notes, and photo/signature indicators. Exported files are the teacher's responsibility once shared outside the app.

Does it replace district inventory software?

No. Classroom Checkout Log is not district asset-management software. It does not handle procurement, depreciation, staff roles, approvals, school-system sync, or district workflows.

Is there a free tier?

A limited free tier is planned for trying the core checkout workflow. Final limits must match the implemented app before launch. The intended paid upgrade is a one-time Classroom Checkout Log Pro unlock, not a subscription.
