Privacy Policy

Overview

Clean Scan is a local-first document scanning app published by LumenHunt. This Privacy Policy explains what the app stores, what it does not send to us, and where Apple is involved for purchases and platform features.

What stays on your device

The core app works without creating an account. Scanned documents and their basic metadata are stored locally on your device in the app’s document storage.

• Scanned pages and generated PDFs
• Document names, page counts, and created/updated timestamps used to organize your library
• A free-scan counter stored in the iOS keychain to track the 3-scan free tier
• Interface preferences such as document sorting order stored in iOS user defaults

Camera permission

The app requests camera access only so you can capture documents with Apple’s document camera. If you do not grant camera access, scanning will not work, but we do not receive your camera feed.

Payments and Apple services

If you buy the lifetime unlock or restore purchases, Apple processes the payment and provides purchase-entitlement information needed for the app to unlock or restore premium access.

We do not run our own payment processor for the iOS app. Apple’s collection and handling of transaction data is governed by Apple’s own terms and privacy practices.

When information can leave your device

By default, the app does not upload your documents to LumenHunt servers. Information can leave your device only in these cases:

• You explicitly share or export a PDF using the iOS share sheet
• Apple processes your in-app purchase or restore request
• You contact support by email and choose to include information in that message

Support messages

If you email support, we will receive whatever contact details and message contents you choose to send. We use that information only to answer your support request and related follow-up.

Data retention and control

You can delete documents inside the app at any time. If you delete the app, on-device documents stored only inside the app may also be removed unless you exported them elsewhere. Purchase history and certain Apple-managed records may remain available through Apple. The free-scan counter stored in the keychain may persist across reinstall unless removed by iOS or reset through device-level actions.

Children’s privacy

Clean Scan is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app itself.
